I have been working to improve my character Ketchup over the last week and have been looking at anatomy as well as thinking about how the character might behave. Below are some rough sketches and also some practice anatomy drawings.
I have found that the book ‘Draw 50 Cats’ by the Disney animator Lee J. Ames is excellent as a quick reference. You will see below that I have used some of the sketches from this book as a base on which to build a pose for Ketchup while referring to the anatomy. I also found the panther sketch very useful to reconstruct as it helped me to better understand the placement of the legs and shoulders.
