Yesterday I had intended to visit Craft 2.0, but I ended up going to the Hands Up Wellington Shopping Expo instead. The expo aims to help Christchurch businesses that were affected during the February earthquake recoup some of their losses.
Hands up Wellington is a charity set up by Wellington businesses, and for 48 hours this weekend you can help by going to the expo at the TSB Bank Arena and supporting businesses that have lost their premises, stock, and in some cases members of staff and customers in the earthquakes.
I spoke to several business owners at the expo, and all were overwhelmed at the support that was shown on just the first day. If you are wondering what to do with the afternoon, head into town and show your support!
There are all kinds of businesses at the Expo, from food and drink, to craft, to jewellery, to homeware, to furniture, and even a pet supply store!
