Super Quick DIY Necklace Display Board

September 16, 2011

If I had been thinking ahead, I would have taken step-by-step photos as I went along. Unfortunately I needed to make this as fast as possible for the Knack craft fair tomorrow! I had been using a mug tree to hang my necklaces on, but they tended to clump together and were very hard for customers to see. I am hoping this little board will help me to show off a few of my favourite pieces to their best advantage.

The board is a very small cork pin board, and has no wooden backing. I got it for $3.50 from a local store. I then cut up some old t-shirt material and hot-glued it to one side of the cork and added some stuffing to give the board a padded look. Finally, again using the hot-glue gun I disguised some of the bits that went wrong with sparkly blue sequined ribbon. I have left the back of the cork board bare so that I can add some pins to hold the necklace chains in place. I will take some photos of how everything looks on display!
